How does it compare?: When compared to other brands and models of same price range below US Dollars 300, the Brother HL 1440 Printer which uses Brother HL 1440 Toner, won the battle hands-down, not one other printer tested could produce at better speed or output. The printer has a horizontal paper tray with 250 sheet capacity, while other printers manage a mere 150 page capacity. The horizontal tray feature is a fantastic innovation as chances of developing feed problems are much less than in the case of vertical trays. The printer is compatible with both Apple Mac and Personal Computers. A standard memory of 2 MB's is included with your printer however it can be expanded to a maximum of 43 MB's. The printer boasts with ease of use, durability, functionality and quality prints, without a doubt value for your money.

Great quality: Photo and graphics printing is a no-no including embedded graphics prints. However text print quality is great with slight flaws on gray areas in the form of slight banding. Speedy: The printer produces quality prints at higher-than- average speed of 15 pages per minute. With that kind of speed the printer is easily on the level of much more expensive brands. User Manual: The user manual presented in the form of a full colour poster is extremely professional. Illustrations and guidelines are clear and plain in language. The software CD has high quality video clips, showing you how to print pages, connect printer, install drivers and drum unit.
