We have all read the news and knee jerk reactions: copying is piracy! Piracy is illegal! Jail time! Expensive fines! End of the world! Even saying the word "back up" in the open is often met with disapproving glances and stern, reproachful words. I am here to tell you that not only is backing up games LEGAL, but it is relatively easy and extremely convenient with an X360 backup creator software.
We have all heard the tales and knee jerk conclusions: copying is piracy! Piracy is illegal! Prison time! Expensive fines! End of the world! Even mentioning the term "back up" in the open is often met with angry glances and stern, reproachful words. I am here to tell you that not only is backing up games NOT illegal, but it is fairly easy and extremely worthwhile with an X360 backup creator software. First things first: piracy IS illegal. Software is intellectual property and distributing stolen property is illegal. However: backing up games one already owns is NOT. It is fully and one hundred percent LEGAL as long as the backups in question are not subsequently distributed. Now that we've cleared that up, the question is: why back up discs I already own? The answer is simple: to protect your investment. Not only do videogame prices get higher and higher every year but as the games themselves become more sophisticated they need to pack more data into each dvd. This increase in data concentration makes it more likely that a simple scratch, the most minor of surface damages, can alter the experience or even render the software unusable. Think about this: a 60 dollar game you love and have invested twenty plus hours is rendered unusable just before you finish it. Is there anything more frustrating? By creating a copy and playing it you are ensuring that the original piece of software always remains in maculate condition, playable for as long as you want to play it. When the next generation systems first came out, backing up games was so much trouble, a task that only the most experienced could manage. Today, with the existence of the Xbox 360 backup creators, it is relatively simple to protect your dvds and ensure they keep on palying for as long as you do. About the Author: Don't risk losing a 60 dollar investment and potentially dozens of hours of enjoyment. Making a backup is as easy yet essential as it has ever been. |
