If it is true that big surprises come in small packages, then you can be sure it is true of this printer. This compact Canon has a paper input cassette which holds 250 sheets and an automatic document feed that will hold 50 sheets. The paper input cassette fits at the front of the machine. The toner is a single Canon toner cartridge system and the MFP prints at a top speed of twenty one pages per minute. You can transmit faxes from your PC and these are sent using a Super 3G modem at a speed of 33.6kbps.

Clear tone-on-tone images are produced by the scanner feature, allowing for excellent clarity with an optical 1200 x 2400 dpi. A 42-bit CCD is available for color imaging and when used together with a 2.0 USB interface projects are processed even faster. As this printer is network ready when it arrives on your doorstep, the built in Ethernet connection ensure you get set up and sharing your printer in no time at all.

The Canon ImageClass MF5770 toner cartridge prints 2 500 copies at a 5% coverage yield on A4 paper, and the monthly duty cycle of the printer is 7 500 pages. It zooms 50 - 100% in 1% increments and reduces and enlarges at 50, 64, 78, 129 and 200 percent. You are also able to use the toner save feature, which helps your toner go a whole lot further.

The ADF copies a maximum size of 8.5 by 14 inches and the platen, 8.5 by 11.7 inches. Face resolutions are good at 391 x 406 dpi, and it features an incoming fax transmission memory of 256 pages. This printer is unfortunately not compatible with Apple operating systems but it works with Windows 200 and XP, also Me, 98 and Server 2003.

The dimensions of the Canon ImageClass MF5770 printer allow for a small footprint. It is a compact 19.1 x 18.8 x 17.4" and weighs only 31.3 lbs. It can easily be moved around by one person, and does not use a huge amount of space.

The software is shipped with the printer and this includes drivers for OmniPage(OCR); SE Windows, ScanSoft and NewSoft Presto. It is unfortunate but his printer is not equipped to work with Apple Mac operating systems. It does however operate with Windows XP, 2000, Me, 98 and Server 2003
