The Lexmark s 1625 printer is a generally good quality laser printer from a well-respected leader in the industry that was listed 5th in Fortune Magazine's list of America's most admired companies for computer peripherals. Nearly twenty years after the company separated from IBM, it now makes about 5 billion dollars in revenue every year and it is now very common to see their products throughout offices around the US and the world--about half of their revenue comes from outside the United States. The are also the makers of the Lexmark S 1625 toner.
This Lexmark printer is a black and white laser printer that is meant to be an affordable option for small business users and other more casual printers. It isn't the fastest printer you can buy by a long shot, but it has a duty cycle of 65,000 words which is respectable. Some companies could push a limit like this, but it is most likely that a small business will be safe within this parameter. It is also not too bulky and heavy. Some printers made today will be lighter or even smaller, but this Lexmark 1625 won't be a burden to move around the office when it needs to move location. It is just over a foot wide and tall, with a depth of just over 19 inches. The printer can also print a decent page. It has a standard range of resolution--up to 1200 DPI (dots per inch)--which will probably be more than enough for most users this printer was designed for. In fact, a smaller resolution is what you will usually be using, even for professional documents. If your business operation is using Inkjet printers, this improved laser technology will be a strong improvement over what is in your office now. This may not be the perfect printer if you need to print very quickly. While the toner and duty cycle of the printer are sufficient, the Lexmark s 1625 will print at about 16 pages per minute. If you print very large documents and print frequently, this speed may slow you down. If you're not sure if this will be a problem for you, then it probably won't be. It also only permits standard paper. The price of this printer is decent as well, and is in line with the features that the printer offers. Since the model is discontinued, they can be found refurbished at about 250 dollars online, but it is still a reliable product. People have reported great images with little jagged edges and a very good paper feed system that avoids jams. There are two types of toner available for this printer. Like most toner, it is pricey and can even run as high as half of the price of the printer itself. There is a regular toner cartridge and a high-capacity version. My research indicates that the high-capacity Lexmark S 1625 toner only costs a little more and prints 17,500 compared to the 7,500 pages the ordinary toner makes. About the Author: While most of these printers are refurbished now, the Lexmark S 1625 Toner is still readily available--especially online. If you want a decent Toner and don't need the world from your machine, then this will be an affordable option for you. Lexmark Toner always provides quality. |
