Last year, I bought the Eyeclops bionic eye for my kids, and they thought it was pretty cool. When I first heard that EyeClops Night Vision Goggles were coming out, I was very excited, for myself AND for my kids! Honestly, at first I was disappointed with how they worked, until I asked about traditional night vision goggles and realized that night vision has its limitations, no matter how much you spend. The EyeClops Night Vision Goggles can allow you to see as far 50' when using the night vision. The stealthy part of the glasses comes from the fact that the light is mostly visible to the wearer (and barely visible to others) so there is little chance of being seen by others. Guess what - they work really well. I was shocked that I could put them on and see pretty far in the darkness. Yes, I did let my kids play with them, I know what you're thinking. By the way, my wife did tease me about the fact that it seems like I bought them for myself and not for her. A safety power cord, fully-adjustable headband, battery pack, 2 modes of night vision (complete stealth *best viewing* and partial stealth *moderate viewing*), night vision through the right eye only (why is this important? because if your kid needs to see around without having their eyes adjust, a flip up lens on the left eye will let them do that instantly), a soft headband that is scratch and smash resistant (always good for kids, right?) It's funny, I learned from reading about pirates on Mythbusters that the reason they wore a patch over one eye was because if they were in a swordfight and had to go below deck where it's dark, they could take the patch off their patched eye and that eye would be ready to see in darkness and they wouldn't be night blinded. Same premise with the eyeclops night vision goggles - since you're only seeing in the dark with 1 eye, the other eye is ready to see in normal light anytime. When using EyeClops Night Vision Infrared Stealth Goggles, here are some good safety tips I thought of: The EyeClops night vision goggles DO work very well, and for the price, they're amazing. When I tried them, I walked around our house in the darkness and could easily see my way around, so they DO work. All in all, I'm very pleased with Jakks Eyeclops Night Vision Infrared Stealth Goggles, and I think they'll make a fantastic and fun gift for your kids for Christmas 2008. Check them out, and be confident that your kids will love them and they'll learn a lot by having them.
