When I first bought my Blackberry Pearl, not knowing better, I loaded up Roxio Media Manager and attempted to transfer my songs from my computer to my new phone. I quickly found out the Roxio software was slow and didn't keep all the artist and song information I put into iTunes. So, when my wife finally got her Blackberry Pearl, I warned her about not using Roxio.

I guess I'm not a very good teacher because my wife didn't really understand. Even though I had told her there was a very easy way of transferring the songs using Windows Explorer, she didn't get it. What I thought was a mistake on her part turned out to be a great discovery. I learned something and I'm sure most other Blackberry Pearl users will learn from this as well.

One Step Transfers from iTunes Directly To Your Blackberry Pearl.

I thought I had this whole songs transfering thing all figured out. Open two Explorer windows, one with the Blackberry Pearl directory and one with my iTunes music directory. I would then drag files from one window to the other. That's not what my wife was doing. She opened iTunes and then a single Explorer window and simply dragged music from iTunes straight into the Blackberry Pearl folder.

You can even use the great search and sort capabilities of iTunes to narrow your music down to exactly what you want. Then you can just select everything in your search results window and move it over in one easy step.

I even created a Blackberry Pearl play list on iTunes. Now, when I see media or audiobooks I want to move onto my Blackberry Pearl, I just copy it into that play list and I know it's there next time I sync up. I just open up the play list and drag it all over. Remember, you can't drag the actual play list title over, but rather the individual songs inside of the play list. Windows will ask if i want to replace the songs already on my Blackberry and I just click "no to all". Now I have all the new songs on my Pearl just like a one-way sync.

One of the coolest things about transferring your music with this technique, is the fact that you won't lose your album, artist, and title information like you do with the Roxio software. If you want to create a playlist on your Blackberry Pearl, you'll have to do that on the phone because they won't transfer in tact.

As for now, enjoy the drag and drop transfers from iTunes to your Blackberry Pearl. Oh, and now my wife gets to claim bragging rights for teaching her techno-geek husband how to do something on his Blackberry Pearl. Humbling to say the least, since shes not really that technologically inclined.
