The Super NES, or as many know it, the SNES, was the best selling 16-bit console. It was produced by Nintendo and was their second console. Although it was released later in the game, the SNES dominated the 16-bit console market with a solid library of games. Some of the SNES games are even considered to be some of the best games of all times. I've put together a list of some of the best selling games for the SNES. Here are my top 10 SNES games.

Number 10:Donkey Kong Country - Donkey Kong was released late in the life span of the SNES, and help extend the the life of the Super Nintendo into the era of the Play Station. It had a unique game play experience for its time. It used the traditional side scroller style, but its advance 3D graphics created a unique game experience. A fun game and a must have for any SNES collection.

Number 9: Final Fantasy III - Finall Fantasy is consider to be one of the best RPG game series of all times. It includes a ton of games on many different consoles. Final Fantasy III continued the series on the SNES before it moved onto the new 3D play modle on the Playstation. The game used a turn based fighting system, which a classic fighting system in RPGs.

Number 8: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars - This game is Final Fantasy meets Super Mario An odd combination but a great one. The game is fun to play. Its not very deep, but a great game. Like Final Fantasy, it uses a traditional RPG fighting system, but mixes it up with some great Mario elements.

Number 7: Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest - A solid game that has earned its spot as on of the best SNES games. The second Donkey Kong game continues the reputation set in the first Donkey Kong Country. A solid game that has an even better design than the first DKC.

Number 6: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island - Yoshi's Island reinvented the Super Mario series with a very different game play. This game is so unique. In the game you play Yoshi and work to reunite Mario and Luigi. The game does not have the graphics that titles like Donkey Kong has, but brings a very unique graphical style to the table. This game truly stands out and is a great game to own for any SNES fan.

Number 5: Mega Man X - An amazing classic. This game continues the Mega Man series, which has 6 games on the NES. It keeps the same feel, but its updated on the SNES, which brings in many new fun elements.

Number 4: Secret of Mana - If you like RPG games, than you must play Secret of Mana. The thing I love is that it uses an action RPG play style instead of the turn based system. This is a super fun multi-player game that even video game fanatic should play.

Number 3: Super Metroid - This game tops almost all SNES lists. If you're an old school NES player, than you know how great this game was. The SNES version is just as good.

Number 2: Chrono Trigger - This is one of the best games ever. It sets a standard for all future RPG games with 14 different endings that allow you to take multiple routes and have different outcomes. A must play Super Nintendo game.

Number 1: The Legend of Zelda: Hands down my favorite games. A Link to the Past is consider by many to be the best games of all time. The unique two world design allowed the developers to produce a massive and unique game. If you have never played this game, it is a must. Of all games on this list, nothing can beat Zelda on the SNES.
