You would probably lose a few pounds, but to restrict your body of something so vital to its health is never a good idea.
With all of the diet plans and myths that seem to circulate, then re-circulate coming around again, the low carbohydrate diets or "no" carbohydrate diets are not safe for anyone to jump onto. You would probably lose a few pounds, but to restrict your body of something so vital to its health is never a good idea. Carbs are one of your body's best friends. Your system needs the complex carbs to sustain itself properly. Not All Carbohydrates Are The Same Let's get down to which carbohydrates we are talking about. Carbohydrates found in vegetables, fresh fruit and whole grains are called complex carbohydrates. These are the carbohydrates we need to stay healthy and helps us to shed weight. Your body depends on these complex carbs for energy, to last you throughout the day. When you decrease carbs you're actually withholding your body of energy it needs to function normally. Just your brain needs at least fifty grams of carbohydrates a day to be able to think and process what's going on. When you eat complex carbs, it takes your body much longer to break it down, and in effect it increases your metabolism, because your body has to work harder to break it down, which means that your body will also be processing calories faster. When considering the opposite to complex carbs, being simple carbs like: processed sugar, pasta, white breads etc these are the one's to be cut out from your diet. You will lose weight and feel healthy. These simple carbs are found in junk food snacks like sweets, potato chips and other starchy sweet food processed in a factory and they will definitely add inches to your waist. They act fast, because they quickly turn into fat cells and are hard to get rid of. Good vs Bad Carbs You would need to replace simple carbs with complex carbs, then you automatically have a safe, sensible, low carb diet and you will shed pounds. Simple changes can make a huge difference for example: buy brown rice instead of white, buy whole grain bread instead of white breads, choose whole grain breakfast cereals instead of "Fruit Loops", and buy fresh fruits and vegetables instead of canned. Whenever foods are processed already, they are stripped of the complex carbohydrates that your body really needs. So when you take on a low carb diet, ensure that you are eliminating the simple carbohydrates. This will help you lose weight without depriving your body of the real energy and nutrients that it needs to sustain and stay healthy. The real bottom line about low carb diets is they always deprive your system from the core energy that it needs to work properly. You may lose a few pounds, but at what cost if it's not healthy for you? By cutting out simple carbs and replacing them with complex carbs you will feel energized and lose weight, so all in all, you will look and feel great.
