Along with the lovely summer weather comes numerous outdoor jobs that have to be done. It takes a lot of work to keep your lawn and the outside of your house looking perfect. Some things can be done seasonally, but many jobs must be done on a weekly basis.

Your lawn and landscaping needs more time than any other external job. It's the first impression that people get of your house and you want it to look impressive. Applying fertilizer to your lawn will make it grow thicker and have a much nicer green color. Regular cutting and trimming will also assist.

Having flower beds in your yard can enhance the beauty of your home. But, they also produce areas where weedeaters often can't be put to use. The addition of landscaping pebbles will reduce the time that you'll need to spend weeding flowers. They can also add a professional look to the edge of your lawn and can be purchased in various colors.

The wood on your deck often takes a beating throughout the winter months. The action of melting snow, freezing and thawing can quickly attack the woods exterior. Completely cleaning the wood and re-sealing it will prevent it from deteriorating further and needing replacement. A little time now can save you from more work at a future point.

All the lights in your garden should be cleaned a minimum of once annuallyper year. Even if you've installed low maintenance solar lights, you should still take off all of the covers and clean them with soapy water. Glass globes or plastic covers that are dirty will cause your outside lighting to be less effective.

It's a really good idea to check the exterior of your home for cracks or loose siding that will allow water to seep in and cause rotting. Siding that has begun to stain or mildew can often be cleaned with soapy water using brushes. But, for really bad stains you can purchase proprietary cleaners.

A swimming pool can give you hours of fun and enjoyment, but it can also mean hours of extra work. Testing the water should be done on a weekly basis and any extra needed chemicals need to be added as quickly as possible. A pool strainer should be used on a daily basis to extract any debris that will clog your pools filter.

Keeping your yard jobs done on a regular basis can actually save you time over the long term. There're also many ways to eliminate some chores, like installing automatic sprinklers. And, the less work that you have to do, the more time you can spend doing your favorite summer activities.
